They say talk is cheap. Google believes that it should be free. Google Talk allows you to call or send instant messages to your friends free of charge and at any time, anywhere in the world. Google Talk offers you:
Choice: Enter in contact when and how you want-over email, IM or call
Quality: Talk on your computer, but hear your friends as if they were in the same room
Convenience: Your Gmail contacts are preloaded in Google Talk to invite or talk to your friends is at click
Google Talk is in beta version and requires a user name and password Gmail.

Pidgin

Pidgin is a program of Messaging Instant for Windows, Linux, BSD and other Unix. You can talk to your friends using AIM, ICQ, Jabber / XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MySpaceIM, and Zephyr.
Pidgin can connect to multiple accounts simultaneously instant messaging networks. This means that you can chat with your friends on AIM, talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger, and sitting in an IRC channel all at the same time. Continue reading…
